Hello family & friends,

Tanela is in Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh www.CHP.org with a new problem.

Due to Tanela's pulmonary hypertension, heart damage, transplant drugs from having a double lung transplant on 10-12-2000 and having high blood pressure, she will now need to have a kidney transplant.

We are looking to find a living donor.

Tanela is blood type O, which means that she can only receive blood type O organs. I will be forwarding more info as I can.

Tanela will be having surgery on Wednesday, December 17 to have a peritoneal catheter placed. This will allow her to begin dialysis while she waits on a kidney transplant.

A PICC line for venous access will most likely be placed soon as well.

We appreciate all the prayers & well wishes...He will bring us through this also...

1st ride of the year

Yes! Finally the first ride of the season was Wednesday evening. Glorious to be out & about again on the bike. I have a demanding driveway, so there was no getting out earlier...then the rains came, and I won't be out 'til tomorrow at the earliest...maybe the sun will shine!

The bike

Fired up the bike this evening...Oh, I can't wait.

It's been nice enough to ride several days, but I have a long, muddy, sometimes still icy driveway...it has to clear up before I dare to take the bike out...

Lung Transplant

I think as I get used to blogging I'll post more, but I wanted to get some things out in the posts when I think of them. I was just thinking about Tricia's upcoming transplant and thought I'd post something about my daughter's transplant.

My daugher had Primary Pulmonary Hypertension (PPH) diagnosed when she was 6 years old. In 2000 she received a double lung transplant - WOW! It's been about 7 1/2 years, and today she is a junior in high school and doing very well.

Confessions Of A CF Husband

Well, here's the reason I started this blog: http://cfhusband.blogspot.com
If you haven't been to this site...check it out. I found this site through a post on Second Wind, a support group I belong to about lung problems. My daughter has lung problems. So, I have been following CF Husband, aka Nate, since 01/09/08, just one day after Gwyneth was born.
